In its commitment to sustainable development, P&TLuxembourg has taken another step towards environmentally friendly mobility by putting two 100% electric Peugeot iOn vehicles into circulation.

On 28 July, Jean-Marie Spaus and Paul Peckels, both members of the Management Committee of P&TLuxembourg, were handed the keys by Jacques Rodenbourg, representing the Rodenbourg Peugeot dealership, watched by Pascal Faber and Laurent Gouverneur of LeasePlan.

With the Peugeot iOn, P&TLuxembourg has opted for the first 100% electric vehicle made by a French manufacturer. There have been notably close ties between the PSA Peugeot Citroën consortium and P&T since the development in partnership with the car maker of eCall, an integrated assistance function, which is available in certain models, including iOn.

The two new white vehicles will be sporting P&TLuxembourg’s ECO+ logo, which for a few months has already been used by the country’s biggest telecoms operator for hybrid and gas-powered vehicles.
’Our priorities include respect for the environment and conservation of resources’, explains Paul Peckels of P&TLuxembourg. ’So we try and make our fleet less gas-guzzling by going for electric alternatives, like for instance electric tricycles for post distribution, or by spreading the message of greener driving habits within the company.’

Intended mainly for use within the city and suburbs, the iOn-Peugeots will be deployed in Luxembourg City, one for post distribution and the other for the needs of the telecommunications departments, with Cloche d’Or as its base.
