One-time exhibition from 14 to 16 September 2012 at LuxExpo
A first for Luxembourg: the 'Blue Mauritius', and other rare issues from the collection of Queen Elizabeth II.
Luxembourg, 31 August 2012 - The first Luxembourgish postage stamps date back to 1852. To commemorate the 160thanniversary of the first issue, P&T Luxembourg and the Fédération des Sociétés Philatéliques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (FSPL) are organising a one-off exhibition from 14 to 16 2012 at LuxExpo, Hall 1, Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
All stamps issued since 1852 in Luxembourg will be on display, as well as more than 100 stamp collections from local enthusiasts. For the first time in Luxembourg, rare stamp issues from the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will also be on display, all brought together in a 'treasure trove', along with the famous 'Blue Mauritius', one of the rarest stamps in the world.
Visitors wishing to discover more may peruse the various information stands on display throughout the event. If they wish, they may also obtain various items of interest related to the world of stamps and stamp collecting. Games corner and activities for children.
