Meeting of historical postal vehicles in Losheim (Germany)
On Saturday, 11 August 2007, the Railway Postal Museum "Bahnpostmuseum" arranged the first meeting of historic postal vehicles. This was part of the 11th Bahnpostfest, the festival of steam locomotives held at Losheim am See, in the Saar region of Germany.
Luxembourg's PostMusée was there representing P&TLuxembourg, with two Post vehicles: a 1971 VW Beetle and a 1976 VW Type 2 Microbus panel van.
P&T's Beetle even carried off second place in the "Oldest Postal Vehicel" category, just behind a Citroen 2CV van belonging to the "Musée de la Communication in Riquewihr", Alsace, dating from 1954. It is worth noting that the 2CV in question was not in working order, unlike the Luxembourg contingent...
Both P&T cars had been fully restored by the Post Garage and made the round trip without any problem.
