Useful information
How to write an address clearly
The reliability and speed of delivery depend essentially on the address of the recipient being written correctly. Therefore, the service quality also depends on you. Just follow these recommendations to ensure your letters are delivered on time.
Use an appropriate font
Character font:
- Do not use decorative, ornamental or script fonts
- The weight, i.e. "the thickness", of letters must not be too fine or too heavy
- When typing an address, use the same font
Size of characters:
The minimum size must be equal to or more than 8 points, ideally between 10 and 12 points.
Spacing:
- Do not use compressed fonts,
- Characters must not touch
- Lines must not touch
Recommended fonts:
Arial, Century, Courier, Mangal, Raavi, Tahoma, Tunga, Verdana.
Only write in the area designated for the address
Write the address carefully
- Align the address to the left-hand side of the envelope.
- It consists of a maximum of six lines.
- Spacing between lines must be normal, do not leave too much space between two lines
- Do not underline anything.
- Write the post code clearly
Use the correct layout
To not add unnecessary information to the address, if the recipient has a P.O. Box or a bulk user code, do not repeat the details of his actual geographic address.
For less common numbering such as 6/8 rue des Bains, we recommend just using the first number, i.e. 6 rue des Bains.

The name of the country must be included and written in capital letters and preferably in French; this is necessary for countries with alphanumeric postal codes (such as the United Kingdom).
If the post code is in numeric form only, it is not necessary to write the name of the country, but the post code must be preceded by the international country code used for automobiles or the ISO code.

Write the address of the sender
In the event that the letter cannot be delivered, it is important to write the address of the sender so it can be returned to the correct address. Write the complete address of the sender on the back of the envelope (on the flap) or on the front on the left-hand side. This is compulsory for registered mail.
