Definitive Series 2001
Grand Duke Henri
The new series of definitive postage stamps bearing the portrait of H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri will be issued only a few days before the first anniversary of the accession to the throne of the sovereign. This will be the first series of Luxembourg stamps whose face value is expressed only in euros.
The new postal values, of a very convenient size (2.4 x 2.75 cm), are organized in sheets of 20 copies. Since these stamps will be reprinted to meet demand, and since they will always be available at post office counters, they are called "definitive stamps ". Supplemental values will later be added to the series issued on October 1 to extend the range of stamps available for franking.
