Postmen's Union
Since 1909, the year the Postmen’s Federation was formed, this professional group has, above all, been dedicated to union activism and the defense of the interest of its members. The union focuses especially on the social role of postmen, the essential link between the P&T and its clients.
A special stamp has been issued to mark the centenary of the postmen’s union. It includes the new union logo and emphasizes the social role of the postal worker trade. This logo, designed by graphic artist Pit Weyer, represents a stylised homing pigeon, symbolising the transition from traditional postal distribution to a society using modern communication methods.
The jubilee of the union is not only an occasion to ponder its rich history of tradition, it especially serves to focus on a forward-looking union, prepared to react to rapid change and to meet new challenges connected to liberalisation of the postal service.
