Christmas 2003 on the Moselle
Ehnen
The chapel of "Wormer Koeppchen" and the round church of Ehnen covered in snow.
The region of Wormeldange is known for the most extensive vineyards in Luxembourg along the Moselle. It is one of the most important wine-producing centres of the Grand Duchy and a place not to be missed by connoisseurs of great vintages.
In addition to the gustatory pleasures of the region, one can enjoy the discovery of the very beautiful round church of Ehnen (around 1826) or even the grand panorama offered to the visitor from the chapel of "Koeppchen". Situated in the heart of the vineyards, these places await visitors interested in painting, photography, and architecture.
On the Christmas stamps, vintage 2003, the Belgian-Luxembourger painter Michel Demart succeeds in expressing the very pictoresque character of this region by illustrating with great charm the countryside in a winter scene.
