75 Years of the Luxembourg-Ville Annual Street Market
Each year, the Commercial Union of Luxembourg City organises a street market in the capital. It is the largest sidewalk sale of the region, during which the entire country clogs the busy streets of the city. For a good many years, interest in this event has gone well beyond the borders of the Grand Duchy. The 75th anniversary of the street market in 2004 is honoured by the issuing of a special postage stamp, depicting the crowd that, on market day, strolls through the streets that are closed to traffic.
This series is dedicated to commercial events that will take place during the course of 2004 in the Grand Duchy. Designed by Pit Weyer, the stamps depict the following subjects:
