P&TLuxembourg voted PSA Peugeot Citroën's best supplier in the 'Service quality' category at the PSA Suppliers' Awards
Luxembourg – 7 April 2011. At the PSA Suppliers' Awards which were presented on 29 March 2011 at Poissy, P&TLuxembourg received the prize for the best PSA supplier in the 'Service quality' category for supplying a telecommunications solution tailored specifically for PSA Peugeot Citroën's vehicle telematics departments.
P&TLuxembourg's Deputy Managing Director, Mr Jean-Marie Spaus, assisted by Mr Marc Rosenfeld, CEO of LUXGSM and director of P&TLuxembourg, received the trophy in person from Mr Yannick Bézard, PSA's Head of Purchasing, in the presence of Mr Philippe Varin, President of PSA Peugeot Citroën's Board of Directors and management committee.
For Jean-Marie Spaus, "this prize is the fruit of the work of a motivated and highly committed team: engineers, salespersons, and financial and legal experts. The project accomplished together with PSA's telematics team brought P&TLuxembourg's abilities to the fore. From the start, it was a quality-oriented project, with respect to the availability of the services provided and project management."
On 15 May 2009, PSA Peugeot Citroën and P&TLuxembourg signed a partnership agreement regarding an integrated telecommunications solution which will be available as standard (depending on the model) in Peugeot and Citroën vehicles.
The new equipment developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën separates the telematic function from the radio, navigation and personal-telephony functions, and includes an embedded P&TLuxembourg-LUXGSM SIM card, meaning that it is an integral part of an Autonomous Telematic Box (ATB) fitted in the vehicles. This solution means the driver of this type of vehicle can benefit from local emergency and recovery services free of charge. In the longer term, this involves supplying several million P&TLuxembourg-LUXGSM SIM cards throughout Europe.
The new services, available since 2010, are PSA Peugeot Citroën's answer to the likely standardisation of the European emergency call system (eCall) and the basis for the development of new telematic services, such as fleet management.
The signed agreement involves P&TLuxembourg providing PSA Peugeot Citroën with:
a mobile telecommunications solution specifically developed for vehicle telematics comprising an infrastructure specific to this project;
a raft of management procedures related to this solution;
coverage for this solution in the 27 European Union countries and in the EFTA countries (Switzerland, Norway and Iceland).
In entrusting this service to P&TLuxembourg, PSA Peugeot Citroën chose the partner providing the best service quality with respect to roaming at European level and having demonstrated a willingness to invest in the development of an innovative solution. This makes P&TLuxembourg a leading international player in the field of M2M technologies (Machine-to-Machine Communications).
This partnership enables P&TLuxembourg to apply the development of its mobile solutions to other applications and develop a new field of activity, namely M2M. To best respond to its customer's specific requirements, P&TLuxembourg mobilised its expertise and flexibility to the benefit of PSA Peugeot Citroën by developing a specially tailored telematic solution.
