The colours of Luxembourg
On a pleasant summer evening, what could be more pleasant than to wander the pathways of Luxembourg to discover dominating and unusual landscapes? In all four corners of the country, a hiker can’t help being charmed by the diversity of the flora and fauna, and also by the diversity of the geological formations he discovers on his way.
Sculpted by wind and waterways, these minerals still bear today a trace of time immemorial and reveal important information on the eras they have passed through. From the first carved flint tools up to the most modern projects, they have always been precious allies for mankind.
Luxembourg sandstone, the schists of Éislek, the conglomerates of Folschette and even iron minerals typical of the Red Earth region, our country offers an uninterrupted display of forms and colours, treasures worth exploring.
Through the booklet «Colours of Luxembourg», it is all this mineral diversity that is highlighted at the price of 3.80€ for a booklet of eight self-adhesive postage stamps with a non-numerical face value of «A» (representing the franking for a normalised letter in the first weight class sent within Luxembourg).
