Commerce 2004

This series is dedicated to commercial events that will take place during the course of 2004 in the Grand Duchy. Designed by Pit Weyer, the stamps depict the following subjects:

100 Years of the Commercial Union of Esch-sur-Alzette

The "Escher Geschäftsverband" is an organisation representing local commercial interests in the town of Esch-sur-Alzette. Thus, for example, it directs such diverse activities as the 3 street markets of the town, the traditional St. Nicolas procession as well as the "Chrëschtmaart", not to mention the "Autosoccasiounsmäertchen" which is already in its 28th edition.

In commemoration of its constitution of 10 January 1904 by its founder Jean-Pierre Kayser, the centenary festivities of "Escher Geschäftsverband" will begin on 10 January 2004.
